Correction: A previous version of this story mistakenly stated the two men had been arrested. Charges are pending in Northampton District Court as well as other courts.

EASTHAMPTON — Police have identified two Springfield men as suspects in a Nov. 14 larceny at Aubuchon Hardware and another Easthampton business.

A 53-year-old man and his 50-year-old brother were identified as suspects based on a Facebook post that included surveillance footage of the theft, according to Easthampton detective Eric Alexander.

The two men have charges pending in Northampton District Court and their names won’t be released until their arraignment, Alexander said.

On Thursday, Easthampton police announced that the suspects of the larcenies in Easthampton were identified through the collaborative efforts of several police departments.

Alexander said the suspects’ car matched that of other burglary incidents being investigated by police in surrounding towns.

The two men have charges pending in multiple jurisdictions, police said in a statement on Facebook.

Police said the suspects stole an $1,100 generator from Aubuchon, but did not identify the other business allegedly robbed by the same men.
