Preps: Maddie Cardaci nets OT winner for Williston girls hockey

Maddie Cardaci found the net with 1.2 seconds remaining in overtime, and the Williston Northampton girls hockey team beat St. Paul’s 5-4 on Saturday.

Kate Holmes scored twice, while Christina Vote and Maura Holden also had a goal each.

Tayah Sommer picked up the win in goal.

Boys basketball

Williston 76, Nobles 51 — Tyler Thomas scored 20 points, as the Wildcats won their season opener saturday. Solomon Neuhaus joined him in double figures with 11.

John Kelly had nine points and Maleek McNeil eight, as 12 players scored for Williston.

Girls basketball

Williston 73, Kingswood-Oxford 48 — Sarah Sullivan led the Wildcats with 23, points, while Jordyn Meunier added 21. Abbie Cosica chipped in 11 points and held Kingswood-Oxford’s best player to five points Saturday.

Boys swimming & diving

Northfield Mount Hermon 92, Williston 78 — Jack Haddad and Shogo Kamei finished 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke for the Wildcats on Saturday.

Girls swimming & diving

Williston 93, Northfield Mount Hermon 77 — Sally Alrutz won two individual events and two relays, as the Wildcats finished first in 10 of the 11 events Saturday.


Loomis 36, Williston 9; Canterbury 42, Williston 21 — Easthampton’s William Gunn went 2-0 at 182 pounds. Cam Lawrence was 2-0 at 138 with a pin Saturday.

Brodie Fazio had a pin at 152 on a 1-1 day.

Easthampton’s Owen Dietrich was 1-1 at 145.
